  IMPORTANT FOR ALL ANIMAL SUPPORTERS AND COMMUNITY DOG CAREGIVERS The Supreme Court’s 19 May 2026 order does NOT impose any nationwide ban on feeding stray/community dogs. Citizens can continue feeding community animals responsibly and peacefully. Feeding with care, cleanliness, and responsibility is not illegal. The Court’s directions mainly focus on: * Public safety * Management of rabid or dangerously aggressive dogs * Strengthening shelters and implementation systems * Proper enforcement of Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules The Court has directed authorities to address issues in sensitive public places where safety concerns arise. However, this does NOT give anyone the right to illegally pick up, dump, abandon, or relocate dogs to unknown places. Dogs cannot be removed from an area and shifted elsewhere without proper shelter facilities, veterinary care, food, water, sanitation, and lawful procedures.    Pashubandhuparivar successfully conducted its 4th Sterilisation Drive at Jammu University. This initiative is a step towards creating a safer, healthier, and more balanced environment for both community dogs and students. Sterilisation not only helps control the stray population humanely but also reduces suffering, aggression, and disease among animals. We are grateful to every volunteer, supporter, and animal lover who stood with us in this mission. Small efforts, when done consistently, create real change.   Pashu-Pakshi Jal Abhiyan Water pots were installed at different locations across to help birds and stray animals during the summer heat. Locations included Health Centre, Distance Education, EVS, Law Department, Economics Department, Canteen, Central Library, Girls Hostel, Swami Ground, Front Gate, Back Gate, Physical Education, Nescafe, Hostels Ground, and other campus areas. A small step towards kindness, environmental care, and protecting living beings in this extreme heat.
