5th Sterilization Drive Successfully Conducted at the University of Jammu

Pashubandhuparivar successfully conducted its 5th Sterilization Drive for community dogs at the University of Jammu on 21 June 2026 as part of its continued commitment to promoting animal welfare and responsible stray dog management on the campus.

The drive was organized with the objective of ensuring the health and well-being of community dogs while maintaining a safe and harmonious environment for students, faculty members, staff, and campus residents. The dogs were humanely captured, sterilized by qualified veterinary professionals, and returned to their respective territories after recovery, in accordance with the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules.

Sterilization is one of the most effective and humane methods of controlling the stray dog population. It helps prevent the birth of unwanted puppies, reduces aggression and roaming behaviour, minimizes the spread of diseases, and improves the overall health and quality of life of community dogs.

This initiative reflects Pashubandhuparivar's dedication to creating a compassionate and sustainable campus where humans and animals can coexist peacefully. The organization remains committed to conducting regular sterilization, vaccination, feeding, treatment, and awareness programmes for the welfare of community animals.
